  Blood Clots    A clot is a clump of cells and protein in your blood. It helps to slow bleeding when you're injured. It usually dissolves as you heal. But if it doesn't, or it forms when it's not needed, it can clog up or completely block a blood vessel.
An unexpected clot can lead to serious problems and even death. In an artery, it can give you a heart attack or a stroke. If it happens in a vein, you can feel pain and swelling . A deep clot inside your body is called a deep vein thrombosis. One in your lungs is a pulmonary embolism. They are both medical emergencies. You can get a blood clot if you break a bone or pull a muscle badly. But sometimes you may not know why it happened or even realize you have one. Your odds of a clot are higher if you: * Are recovering from surgery or had to sit for many hours on a flight or in a wheel chair. *Are overweight or obese *Have diabetes or high cholesterol *Are over 60 When a clot slows or stops the flow of blood, it can build up in the vessel and make it swell. If it happens in your lower leg or calf, it's often a sign of DVT. But you can also have a clot in your arms or belly. Even after it goes away, one in three people still have swelling and sometimes pain and sores from damage to the blood vessel. If a clog plugs up veins in your arms or legs, they may look blueish or reddish. Your skin also might stay discolored from damage to the blood vessel afterwards. Clots in your lungs might cause your heart to race, or you may feel sweaty or faint. This is a serious symptom. You can have clots in your belly and often feel no symptoms. Blocked veins in the stomach or esophagus, can rip and leak blood. This can hurt a lot. You may poop and also vomit blood, and your stool may look black and smell unusually bad. Renal vein thrombosis are located in the kidneys. These clots grow slowly and mostly in adults. There are usually no early symptoms unless a piece breaks off and lodges in your lung. If you suspect a blood clot, see your doctor or go to the emergency room right away. A clot can be deadly, and you won't know for sure you have it until you get checked . Credit: WebMD .   Josef Fritzl built a dungeon in the 1970s off a vast cellar complex below his family home in Austria. Pretending to need help to build his cellar door, he asked his 18 year old daughter, Elizabeth for help .He made her unconscious by placing an ether-soaked rag over her face. Meanwhile, he told his wife that Elizabeth had run away from home. He kept his daughter captive for 24 years in the windowless basement during which time she bore him seven children. One died three days after birth and was incinerated in the basement. In 2008, one of the children fell ill and had to be taken to the hospital. The doctors became suspicious about the state of health of the then 19 year old. On investigation Fritzl was arrested. She glanced at them as they made their way out of the night spot.
"Now back to you Sir," she uttered, staring at the barman with puckered lips. Her eyelids now moving with rapidity. "Excuse me ma'am?" he retorted. Now feeling a bit bashful, she changed her question. "Um, could you please help me with the question I had asked you earlier?", she mused. "And what question was that ma'am?, he enquired. "I had asked you earlier, what does a woman have to do to make a man love her the way he should?" "Oh that question!" "Yes please Sir!" The pace of discussion accelerated. The barman tried to navigate a suitable reply. "I think it has to do with whatever are the expectations or rather what each party in the relationship conceives love to be." "I don't quite understand, " she replied "Well , uh, it can be a bit complex at times." "I don't see any complexities in love." He pondered on her reply. "Sometimes ma'am?... She interrupted his answer "If you love somebody, you just love them", came her biting response. She fixed her hair which by now seemed tousled . The atmosphere appeared battle ready. The barman reflected for a while. Over the years he has listened to a tirade of customers' problems. Some were easy to tolerate, while others challenged his faculties. There were men who complained that their bosses were nerds and needed to be fired. Some alcohol filled diatribe even suggested the most heinous of fate to befall a colleague, a wife , a public figure or sometimes even a dog. He often listened with compassion, obscured hilarity, or anger. What a job to be a barman. "Don't you love your wife?", his patient blurted. Yes, I do." "So, What is complex about that?" " I was just trying to explain"... "Explain what?" she intercepted. Three couples entered the bar and took their seats at tables. The table fan continued its job. The music punctuated the atmosphere with love. "Let's Stay Together" came the voice .Her eyes glared at the music box on the wall. It was speaking to her and her absent lover. "Excuse me please, ma'am", the relieved barman said, as he made his way to attend to his new patrons. She fumed. He left. She took a gulp of her drinks. "This man thinks I'm some foolish geek who doesn't know what love is." she muttered as he disappeared in the distance.
