There is unquestionably every reason for consumers to be worried about the authenticity of some of the foods that are manufactured and sold as wholesome products. This is taken against the backdrop of the recent Brazilian meat scandal.
From time to time I've seen posts on social media about some underground manufacturer producing food in the most unhygienic and technologically questionably manners. I'm not sure that I believed all of them, as we know people can do all sorts of things with videography. Lo and behold, we have glaring evidence that the second largest producer in the world of chicken and beef is guilty of the most appalling malpractices in meat production.
What is also perturbing is that the meat is exported to 150 countries around the world. According to a report coming out of Brazil, potato, water and cardboard are added to chicken. Pig filler heads have been used in the manufacture of sausages.
Though a number of arrests have been made by the Brazilian government, it will take a long time to convince consumers that some of the meat coming from that country is wholesome. One big question is unanswered; who else is doing it?
