A big question arises in the minds of concerned citizens about the spike in drug-related deaths in the United States and even other parts of the world-When is it going to subside? I use this word euphemistically. To expect the carnage to stop is certainly engaging in super optimism. But like any challenge, it can be at least controlled significantly.
A report released recently by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention paints a worrying picture of this phenomenon.  According to the report, opioids- prescription and illicit are the main drivers of drug overdose deaths. In 2015, 33,091 deaths were reported from drug overdose. This figure represents a staggering four times the incidence of such deaths over 1999.
West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio,  Rhode Island and New Hampshire were the five states with the highest number of deaths.
The landscape has grown bigger to include Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Illinois,  Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Washington, Maryland, Michigan, Massachusetts, and New Jersey along the those mentioned earlier as having  increases in deaths from drug overdose. .Would someone step in and help?
