                                                             THE VANVILTS    (Story continues)

"Look mom, I don't want any problem,"Johnny whispered.
"Problem with whom or what!" cried his mother. "If there is a problem, you might as well let me know right now," continued an agitated Sherry.
"Mom could you please calm down," begged Johnny.
"Calm down when you're not telling me anything," his mother pleaded.
"Ok, ok mom, Dad and I had a misunderstanding while you were in bed and I was upset so I didn't come out of my room until you called me."
"What was it about?" she asked.
"Weeell, I was playing some music in my room and Dad heard and came and stopped it," replied a bashful Johnny.
"But why would your dad stop your music just like that,Johnny" asked his mother who was now much calmer but corious.
"Mom to be truthful, I was playing the music very loudly, replied Johnny quietly.
"Oh I now understand,"  his mother said calmly. She left his room.

Johnny turned on his music set once again but this time he made certain that the volume was kept at an acceptable level
A bit of frustration was seeping as he listened to his favorite rock band with the volume turned low. Johnny tested the waters as he raised the volume a little. No one took notice it seemed. He picked up the broom that lay on the floor and began playing it as if it were a guitar. He was thrilled. The rock musician raised his voice and sang along; his guitar now flaming to the fire of the tune. Johnny turned up the volume some more. He belted the next tune at the top of his lungs. He was now on stage playing to a crowd that would pack a football arena. His adrenaline was in full flow as the crowd cried out for more. He could hear the fans calling his name,"Johnny!" "Johnny!" "Johnny!" He eyes were red hot from exitement. The attendees really love his music. After a while he was spent. He would take a break and come again for his fans.
His bedroom door which was earlier closed was now wide open. The fans has suddenly disappeared, but a few, his dad, mom, Kim and Stella. Johnny put his guitar in a corner and felt like running off the stage. His fans would not let him as they blocked the exit. Johnny lowered the volume of his band. Mom smiled, Dad smiled and Stella and Kim broke out in uncontrollable laughter. The rock star felt like a rock without the star.
The arena was finally cleared as the remaining fans departed. Johnny shut his door. He headed for the shower. Kim and Stella returned to the laundry room . Charles and Sherry went shopping.

The shopping mall teemed with people as both the young and not-so-young jostled each other to get to the various shopping centers around. Summer sale was widely advertised by the competing businesses.Among the bargains were electronic equipment, electrical appliances, footwear, clothing, household furniture and of course food. No one in Coculade Texas was going to miss out.
The sun began to bully those outdoors as the temperature rose to 110 degrees. Many hustled from their cars as they made their way to their preferred shopping site just to be relieved of the searing heat.Sherry and Charles checked out the fist electrical appliance store. Charles turned to his wife and asked her if she heard her phone in her handbag ringing. She dashed to a corner and wrestled her phone. It was Johonny.
"Mom when are you coming home?" he questioned.
"Why, what happened?" his mother asked nervously.
"No, it's not anything mom," Johnny said.

To be continued.
