The Moaning Dead Man
A pilot on a Chieftain (PA31-350) shared his experience of flying a dead body in a body bag one night and the body groaned and jerked pretty hard for about ten minutes into the flight.
" I had strapped it down, so I don't know how much it would have moved if not restrained", reported the pilot. During the 25 minutes flight, the pilot said he just muttered under his breath and looked over his shoulder.
He suspects that it could have been gases inside the corpse that brought out the pressure change from ground to 3,000 feet up.
