DRUG FOUND TO SAVE MOTHER'S LIVES.
Heat-stable carbetocin has come to the rescue of mothers who suffer severely or die after giving birth, this is according to a report coming out of the World Health Organisation - WHO. June 28,2018.

This new heat restising drug can remain sffective for up to 1,000 days helping to prevent potentially fatal bleeding in women and also save the lives of  their babies. Hot, humid conditions in many countries can reduce the effectiveness of existing drugs.

About 70,000 women worldwide die every year due to severe bleeding after childbirth, according to the WHO. This bleeding increases the risk of babies dying in their first month of life. The current medical procedure using an injection of oxytocin is offered to all women who give birth vaginally. However, oxytocin needs to be stored at low temperatures, which is not possible for some countries.

A New England Journal of Medicine disclosed recently that after studying nearly 30,000 women in 10 countries, that the application of  either heat stable carbetcin or oxytocin were both effective in preventing excessive bleeding.
