THE LINK BETWEEN ALCOHOL AND CANCER.
A recent article coming out of THE NEW YORK TIMES highlights the findings of a study that show a risk of alcohol and cancer.
According to the article, the oncology society found that there is a reasonable amount of evidence showing an association between some cancers and and alcoholic beverages. The type of cancers specficcally identified are:oropharyngeal and larynx, esophagerl cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer and colon cancer. The publication attributes the greatest risks are with heavy drinkers, but cautions that even modest drinking may increase the risk of cancer.
