TEN THINGS YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT SPERMS
1. How long does sperm live?
Sperms last 74 days in a male's body. If not released during ejaculation within this period, they die and reabsorbed in the body.
2.Some like it hot, some like it cold
Temperature can lower sperm count. Men have less sperm count during Summer Season. During Winter testicles are a few degrees colder which increases sperm count.
3. Ninety percent of sperm ejaculated is deformed.
Not all sperm is created equal. Some can have defects in head, neck, or tail. Some sperms can have 2 heads, 2 necks 2 tails, or even coiled tails. this can potentially affect the sperms' ability to reach and fertilize an egg.
4. Sperms come in millions.
A single ejaculation can contain up to 300 million sperms. however only 1 sperm cell is needed to fertilize an egg.
5.Sperms also have genders.
Not all sperms are chromosomally male. Several sperms do carry the X chromosome, while others carry the Y chromosome. If a father provides an X chromosome, the baby will be female, whereas if he supplies the Y chromosome, the baby will be male.
6. Men with deep voices have lower sperm count.
a study published by PlosOne found that men with deeper voices have lower concentration of sperm cells in their ejaculation.
7.Sperms have bodyguards
Only 5 percent of semen contains sperm, and a sperm only carries half as much DNA as other cells in the male body. this makes it suspicious to the immune system which sees sperms as foreign invaders. The sperm bodyguards are cells, creating a barrier from immune system cells which would attack them.
8.Size does not matter.
Sperm cells are about 0.05 millimeter and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The female egg is 30 times larger and can be seen by the naked eye.
9.Good Diet = Good sperm
Sperm count and quality can be greatly affected by a man's dietary habits. Foods that would give vibrant, healthy, muscular, happy, robust sperm include; oysters, bananas, walnuts, asparagus, garlic, lean beef, and chocolate. drinking lots of water is also helpful as sperms spend their brief lives pretty much submerged in a swimming pool of your balls' own making.
10. Bad diet = Bad sperm
If you want a healthy baby, put down the cigarettes and stay away from the vodka. say no to the bacon, cheese, cupcakes and sausages. Drink decaf coffee. Wireless technology can also damage sperm.
