HISPANIC WOMEN MORE PRONE TO COVID19 IN PREGNANCY
A report coming out from Health Day News today says that that Hispanic mothers-to-be in the US are almost twice as likely to have Covid19. This group with government insurance are more likely to test positive than those with private insurance.
The researchers routinely tested pregnant women who went to the Houston hospital for delivery. Chief researcher , Dr. Beth Pineles noted that it is important to test everyone , because , if you only test people who are symptomatic, you'll get a lot more people who test positive. Pineles also added. "Universal
testing allows you to get an unbiased estimate of who is being infected."
Data of more than 900 Hispanic, Black, Asian and White  patients was used in this research. Hispanics  women tested showed an 11% rate of infection as compared to 5.5% for the other groups.
The researchers did report that of the population used for sample 86% were asymptomatic and there were no fatalities.
