ARE OLDER WOMEN FINDING SEX MORE ENJOYABLE THAN THEIR YOUNGER COUNTERPARTS?
So it seems , according to an article published by BBC Health, June 26, 2018.Out of the 7,000 women over 16 interviewed by Public Health England, almost half of those between the ages of 25-34 did not find great sexual satisfaction. Whereas, less than a third of the women between 55-64 reported fewer enjoyable sexual interactions.
Some of the hindrances to younger women just relaxing and letting go in this most enjoyable act as as follows:
*Dealing with unwanted pregnancies.
This fact was the biggest area of concern for those surveyed. Younger women have to deal with the fact that they can become pregnant and may not feel free or even enthusiastic to engage in sex.
* Managing painful or heavy periods was the third most common reproductive worry, while having an enjoyable sex life was second.
*Going to reproductive health screening including smear tests, was fourth. "Other" reproductive health symptoms was fifth. And difficulty getting pregnant was sixth.
*Catching a sexually transmitted disease was seventh on the list.
Some other findings:
*Most women who were sexuallyactive were using at least one method of contraception.
* About a third of those interviewed reported using a coil (intrauterine ) device or implant.
*Another third said they were using the pill.
*Condoms were also popular but not necessarily regular choice.
About a third of the women had experienced severe reproductive health symptoms, ranging from heavy menstrual bleeding to menopause, incontinence to infertility. many of these symptoms affected a woman's ability to carry out daily activities which many conceal from their colleagues.
The Health Authority is drawing up a five-year plan to promote women's reproductive health.
