Danish scientists have move one step closer in improving women chances of childbearing. A report emanating out of the BBC today says that the scientists are on the brink of developing an artificial ovary that could lead to improved fertility preservation treatments.
The report cites a technique which is aimed at helping women at risk of infertility , especially those who receive chemotherapy. The scientists were able to remove parts of the ovary and altered them so that they could potentially be transplanted later when the woman wants to conceive.- all parts of the ovary is removed and frozen  before it is damaged so that it can be used at a later date.
Some women are not so lucky to benefit from this treatment at the moment, women with leukemia and those originating in the womb are unlikely to be offered the treatment.
