A potential vaccine for HIV seems to be in the making. that's according to a report coning out the BBC two days ago.The vaccine has shown a lot of promise, the report stated.
After a study of 393 people, scientist were able to determine that the study has yielded satisfactory results.this vaccine is aimed at providing immunity against various strains of HIV. Some tests were also done on monkeys with positive results.
Participants for this study came from the US, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa and Thailand. Each participant received four vaccinations over the course of 48 weeks. At the end , there was an anti-HIV immune system response that were determined to be safe.
More than 37 million people worldwide are believed to be living with HIV or Aids, with an estimated 1.8 million cases every year.
