HEART HEALTH
Now  that the Christmas season is on us, the obvious is an accompanying factor-food and more food will be consumed in king-sized quantities. This come on the heels of Thanksgiving which saw voracious consumption by many celebrants.
Bulging waistlines and puffy cheeks will bear evidence of injudicious comsumption.  Aching muscles and organs, unexplained pains and fatigue will wend their way to doctors' clinics or hospitals. The culprit? You guessed it-overeating. The good news is, some will survive. They will live to fight another day inspite of the fact that they also engaged in the war to defeat all the unwanted and excessive food -some fodder, in their abdominal cavity.
On the other hand, the weaker fighters will have to endure, the agony of insane chewing and swallowing.
On the surface, some of the great warriors may seem to emerge from the war unscatched. Look at me boy, may be the quiet or loud boast. Unbeknownst to the victor, is a silent enemy lurking and waiting to strike suddenly. Yes, that organ in  our body that never rests- our heart. It took a battering, but didn't seem to complain like the others. But, has finally given up on those of us who didn't listen when he spoke . Our voices of food comsumption was so loud that we could not have heard. It's time to listen.
Have fun, but,  let's not forget to listen to our hearts.
