It notes that "prime age" workers , mostly men are unable or unwilling to find work because of opioid abuse. The article further states that of the 1.8 million workers out of the labor force , nearly half of those in a survey admitted to taking an opioid the day before. Also those who are actively seeking a job, opioid use has become a barrier.
