GOODBYE SUNSHINE
Sunshine you're welcome in the morning
Showing your full face on the rise
Yet, getting seemingly fierce as the day ages
Piercing the skin of humanity
As beards of sweats  flow from their foreheads

But the day is getting old sunshine
And your duty is done
Even the trees who greeted you with the morn
Must now bow their heads in gratitude
You have done your part and must now leave.

Why? Darkness is about to take your place
As it creeps silently without warning
Folding its arms around your body
Give it it's right sunshine
Give darkness some play

As your light fades  when your glow sleeps
The souls of man can now rest
From the toils they endured with your stay
The cool wind dances and all is at peace
Goodbye sunshine until tomorrow. (Wallace Paul © 1981)
