An almost deserted Walnut Parking Lot in Dallas on a Saturday afternoon is indicative of the shutdown due to Covid19. The pigeons have some play as they :saunter and fly and coo and smile. In the meantime humans are caged waiting for a chance to fly. Some sing the words of "Skyline Pigeon".
Turn me loose from your hand
Let me fly to distant lands
Over green fields, trees and mountains
Flowers and forest fountains
Home along the lanes of the sky way
For this dark and lonely room
Projects a shadow cast in gloom
And my eyes are mirrors
Of the world outside
Thinking of the ways
That the wind can turn the tide
As these shadows turn
From purple to grey
For just a skyline pigeon
Dreaming of the open
Waiting for the day
That he can spread his wings
And fly away again.
(Author:Bernie Taupin)
Sung by Elton John.
But the time to fly again will come. Lets all keep that hope within our hearts.
Have a beautiful week. Cheers!
