For centuries the world is accustomed to hear about men who have had some great inventions, while this is plausible, a number of women have risen to the task as great inventors. This section would look at the fine achievements of women with original ideas and products.

Born in New York, November 4, 1942, Dr. Patricia Bath is graduate from Manhattan Hunter College where she received her B.A in chemistry and M.D from Howard University .
She was awarded the Edwin Watson Prize for Excellence in Ophthalmology at Howard as well.
It was while doing her research that this once active Civil Rights organizer , observed large proportions of blind patients in Harlem. She began to collect data on blindness and visual impairment at Harlem Hospital.
With her passion to bring relief to the many patients to Harlem and other disadvantaged communities Dr. Patricia became the inventor of laser cataract surgery . Her invention was called Laserphaco Probe and proved beneficial to thousands of patients.
Dr. Bath died in May, 2019.
