Short Story
The sheets and the pillows lay scattered on the floor from their romping last night. She didn't care to put things in place just yet. The excitement from their engagement still lingered. But there was one regret. It was 9pm. and her lover had to leave to go home to his wife and kids.
It was early Sunday morning. She imagined he was getting ready to attend church with his family. She tried many things to get him to stay, but he couldn't. He had to be in church. His special responsibility did not allow him to be absent at any time at all. He was the lead pastor. The 25 year-old woman got up and switched on the television that was in her room. She changed channels frequently. She was looking for some show that would help relieve her loneliness. A few religious programs promised that if a person changed their lives everything would be fine. But here she was a preacher's lover.
Earlier, the pastor, his wife and two kids prayed earnestly for protection and blessing before they left for church. On their 20 minutes drive to the place of worship, gospel music blared over the car radio. The kids sang along as they were familiar with most of the songs. These kids and their mother were proud of the man who was revered by the church and the society at large.
On the other side of town, the young woman reluctantly stuck to one television program--her lover was preaching. The 1200 capacity sanctuary looked packed. The preacher got up and delivered a fiery message. He identified some of the failings of the world and gave recommendations for their correction. The congregation concurred by the accoustomed "Amen" response. Admonitions were also given especially to those who yielded to temptations. "Amen", ecoched throughout the tabernacle once more. The service ended with the usual prayer. Members made their way home.
When the preacher arrived home he asked his family for some privacy and locked himself in his office. He called his unmarried buddy who was not a devotee and confessed that he felt like a hypocrite. They were both in their early 40s and had been friends from middle school. His friend knew of the affair but made no judgement. His buddy listened as his friend broke down in tears. The preacher wanted to know why as an ardent Bible reader, he still gave in to his temptations. His buddy told him that, that alone was no guarantee for his conflicting decisions. And added that it is usually a much deeper reason. He threw out the option of counseling. The pastor was reluctant as he most likely would have to get help from a secularist --the people he often targeted in his messages. His friend assured him that these professionals are trained to deal with various groups, and are mostly non-judgemental. The pastor promised to give his buddy's advice some serious thought and ended the conversation.
The forlorn woman got up from her bed after watching the preacher. She tried tidying her room but was unmotivated. She switched off the television, hurried to the fridge to find anything for comfort. A bowl of baked chicken stared at her. She grabbed it without heating it. She managed only a tiny piece. She sank herself in the sofa. Anger filled her mind. For the last time she was promising herself to end the relationship with her lover. But, she had said that a thousand times before. © Wallace Paul ( April 2024)

TV actress Dylan Cornique is now a fully grow adult. She turned 21 on April 13. That's, "The World's Astonishing News" Oh you thought she was just going to remain a kid" Ha, ha! She is a big girl now. Read the news.

So you think you can dance or maybe you mean you want to learn how to dance. The last part of your statement sounds truer. Because, TikTok star, Jean-Victor Mackie danced his way to his 21st birthday on April 13. You should have been there to see the moves. That is dancing!

There were no "Vampire Diaries" to spoil the celebration of Chris Wood's 36th birthday celebrations on April 14. It was just fun and laughter and love. Cheers, Chris!

Turkmenistan is a country in Central Asia bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north, east and northeast, Afghanistan to the southeast, Iran to the south and southwest, and the Caspian Sea to the west. This country's capital is, Ashgabat which is also it's largest city. It is one of six independent Turkic states. With a population of 6.5 million and 189,660 sq miles, Turkmenistan is the 35th largest country in Asia.
This Asian country has served as a thoroughfare for several empires throughout its history. Historically inhabited by Indo-Iranians, followed by its annexation by the Achaemenid Empire of Ancient Iran. After centuries of turmoil, over a thousand years later, in the 8th century AD, Turkic speaking tribes moved from Mongolia to present-day Central Asia. Turkmenistan was also annexed by the Russian Empire in 1881 and figured prominently in the anti-Bolshevik movement in Central Asia. In 1925 Turkmenistan became a constituent of the Soviet Republic,the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic, but became independent in 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Republic.
Turkmenistan is hardly a diverse country where 85. 6% of its population are Turkmens, 5.8% are Uzbeks, 5.1% Russians, 0.4% Kazakhs, and 3.1% others. Its major religion is Islam, with 93% of the population identifying as followers of this faith, with Christianity making out just 6.4% and 0. 6% as others.
The form of government in present day Turkmenistan can be described as unitary presidential republic under a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship . It has a President, Vice President, Chairman of the People's Council and Chairman of the Assembly.
This country possesses the world's fourth largest reserve of natural gas and substantial oil resources. China is the largest buyer of gas from Turkmenistan via three pipelines linking the two countries through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. At present there construction is apace for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, pipelines.
Turkmenistan's GDP stands at 126,132 billion USD.

So we've look at various forms of planting. Last week we looked at planting potatoes. Now this week we'll learn to plant our own bouquets. These are used as gifts for various occasions like weddings, graduations, Valentine, Easter, Christmas, and many other celebrations.
Many gardeners are embracing the joy of growing their own flowers for beautiful bouquets. Sunflowers, zinnias, and cosmos are excellent choices for homegrown cut flowers. Whether you want to sell them at local markets or simply brighten your home, cultivating your own bloom is a rewarding endeavor.

When choosing flowers, opt for those with strong stems and that tend to bloom for a long period of time. A cutting garden doesn't have to be large to keep your vases full all season long. Even a small bed strategically planted with a variety of spring and summer blooming bulbs, brightly colored annuals, and a few blooming perennials and shrubs can yield a bountiful supply of homegrown bouquets.
Here are some examples.

Aster Grape-Crush.
These are easy -to-grow, late-season bloomers. Wonderful for fall bouquets. Bloom time: August through October. Height spread: one to six feet tall and 1 to 3 feet wide.

Black-Eyed-Susan
This is a perennial. These prolific native wildflowers bloom in abundance from midsummer through autumn in cheery shades of yellow, orange , and gold. They are drought tolerant and low maintenance.
Bloom time : Midsummer until frost.
Height: 10 inches to 7 feet.

Bells of Ireland
These plants produce tiny, fragrant flowers surrounded by apple green calyxes clustered along vertical square green stalks. The green bell is the calyx --outer sepers surrounding the tiny white flower petals inside.
These are annuals
Mature size: 2-3 ft tall, 12-18 ins wide.
Sun exposure: Full/partial
Soil: Neutral
Bloom time: Summer/fall

Bupleurum
Bright chartreuse-green blooms that add sparkle to arrangements. Combine them with other flowers for a striking effect.
These are annuals/perennials.
Days of Germination : 14 - 21 days
Size : 24 - 36 ins.
Light Preference: Sun/shade
Spacing: 10"

Honeywort
Unique colors (silver, blue, purple, and green ) all on one stem. Arching stems with noodling blooms. Great as a bouquet filler.
Plant seeds outdoors with well drained soil
Sun exposure: Full, with some shades at mid-day.
Add compost or other organic matter into soil before planting
If planting in pots, make sure there's enough room for roots to grow (at least 10 ins. wide )
Keep soil moist but not soaked.

Mint
Mint adds fragrance to your arrangements. It's long -lasting stems are perfect for bouquets. This is a perennial herb with very fragrant toothed leaves and tiny pink , purple, or white flowers. There are many varieties of mint -- whether shiny of fuzzy, smooth or crinkled , bright green or variegated.
Mint practically grows itself.
Soil: Light with good drainage.
Sun exposure: Full/ partial shade.
Size: 1 --2 ft tall.
Grows vigorously and needs to be contained.

Lavender
It's fragrant blossoms and foliage make it an excellent choice. It prefers poor soil and with good drainage and can be grown as a perennial in suitable zones.
Sun: Full
Height: 2--4 ft.
Hardiness zones: 5--9.
Drought resistant.

Triggers of Heart Attack
Heart disease is leading cause of death in the US. Although death rate has declined, this disease is still a concern in the medical circle.
These are some of the triggers of heart disease.

*Lack of Sleep
If you feel grumpy and tired and don't get enough sleep on a regular basis, but you can raise your risk of heart attack, too. In one study researchers found who usually slept fewer than 6 hours a night were twice as likely to have a heart attack as those those who slept 6 to 8 hours. Doctors aren't sure exactly why this is, but they know losing sleep can raise your blood pressure and lead to inflammation. Neither is good for your heart.
*Migraine Headaches

People who get these are more likely to have a heart attack later in life than those who don't. And ones that include auras- strange sights, sounds or feelings that start before the headache hits -- seem to have a stronger link to heart problems.

*Cold Weather

It' a shock to the system. Being outside in the winter months can cause your arteries to narrow, making it harder for blood to reach your heart. On top of that, your heart has to work harder to keep your body warm. If you're concerned about it, play it smart in cold temperatures, and limit physical activity, loke snow shoveling.

* Air Pollution and Car Exhaust

Heart attacks are more common when air pollution levels are high. People who breathe in dirty air on a regular basis are more likely to have clogged arteries and heart disease. Sitting in traffic may be especially dangerous because it can combine car fumes with anger and frustration.

* A Big Heavy Meal

Think twice before going back for seconds or thirds - it may hurt more than your waistline. When you eat large amounts of food in one sitting it leads to a higher level of the stress hormone norepinephrine in your body. This can raise your blood pressure and heart rate, and it may trigger heart attacks in some people. Very fatty meals can cause a sudden jump in a kind of fat in your blood.and it may temporarily damage some blood vessels as well.

* Strong Emotions, Negative or Positive

Anger, grief , and stress are known triggers of heart problems. but joyful events can sometimes lead to a heart attack as well. It can be triggered by the kinds of emotions that go along with a surprise birthday party, a wedding, or the birth of a grandchild.

* Sudden Intense Exertion

Getting in shape will help your heart in the long run, but doing too much could be dangerous. About 6% of heart attacks are triggered by extreme physical effort. And while you've heard exercise is a good way to relieve stress, it's especially important not to overdo it when you're angry or upset.

* A Cold or the Flu

When your immune system fights off a bug it can cause inflammation that can damage your heart and arteries. In one study, people with respiratory infections were twice as likely to have a heart attack. But their risk level went back to normal after they have been clear of the infection in a few weeks. Heart attack rates are also higher during flu outbreaks-- another reason to get your flu shots.

* Asthma

Your chances of having a heart attack go up 70% if you have lung disease. Even if you use an inhaler to keep it under control, your risk is stil; higher than normal. because of asthma, you may also ignore chest tightness, which can be an early sign of heart attack. Doctors don't know if breathing problems trigger heart attacks
, or if they have a common cause --inflammation.

* Getting out of Bed in the Morning

Heart attacks are more common in the morning.Your brain floods your body with hormones to help you to wake up, and that puts extra stress on your heart. You may also be dehydrated from a long sleep, which can make your heart work harder, too.

* Sex

Like many forms of exercises, sexual activity has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks. But of course, it's a small one, especially if you're physically fit and in good health. For most people can, and should be an important -- and -- healthy part of life. But talk to your doctor if you have concerns.

* Coffee

Just like alcohol ,coffee has its minuses and pluses. Caffeine make your blood pressure go up for a short time, and that can trigger an heart attack, especially if you don't drink it often or you're are at risk for other reasons. Overall though, drinking one or two cups per day does not seem to be harmful.
