"The Creation of Man" also known as "The Creation of Adam." by Michelangelo. 1508 -1512

Michelangelo was a sculpture, painter, and architect, widely considered to be one of the greatest artist of the Renaissance- and arguably of all time. Born on March 6, 1475 in Caprice, Italy. His father worked for the Florentine government, and shortly after his birth the family returned to Florence, the city Michelangelo would always consider his true home.
Because his work was recognized as extraordinary, he was commissioned by many in the upper hierarchy including the Pope Julius  in 1505 to sculp a grand tomb of 40 life-size statutes. His work can be seen over many places in Italy including his famous depiction of the 12 apostles in the ceiling of the  Sistine Chapel and his sculpture of David. This artist lived to age 88 and is buried in the Basilica di Santa Croce.

Rome was founded in 753 BC by twin brothers, Romulus and Remus. Legend has it that they were left to drown in a basket on the Tiber by a king of nearby Alba Longa and rescued by a she-wolf. The twins lived to defeat that king and founded their own city on the river banks in 753 BC.
Romulus killed his brother and became the first king of Rome, which is named after him. There are seven legendary kings of Rome: Romulus, Nama Pompilius, Tullus Hostilius, Ancus Martius, Lucius Tarquinius Priscus, Servius Tullius, and Tarquinius Superbus. They were referred to as "Rex , or King in Latin. All the kings after Romulus were elected by the senate.
Over eight and a half centuries, the Roman Empire grew from a small town of pig farmers into a vast empire that stretched from England to Egypt and completely surrounded the Mediterranean Sea. This empire is speculated to have fallen sometime around 476 AD. when the eastern half officially became the Byzantine Empire.
Roman philosophy was heavily influenced by Greek philosophy , but incorporated Roman law into religion and culture. Some of it's more well known philosophers were: Marcus Aurelius, Cicero, Seneca, Plotinus, and Hypatia.

Neptune is the eight and farthest planet from the sun. It is the fourth largest planet in the solar system by diameter, the third most massive planet, the densest planet and it is 17 times the mass of Earth.
Neptune's atmosphere is composed primarily of  hydrogen and helium along with traces of hydrocarbons and possibly nitrogen. It's interior is primarily composed of ices and rock.
Most languages today use some variant of the name, Neptune. In Chinese, Japanese Vietnamese and Korean, the name was translated as "Sea king star. Mongolians call it "Dalian van", the Greek say," Poseidon", in Hebrew , "Rahab", from a Biblical sea monster mentioned in the Book of Psalms. In Māori, the planet is called, Tangaroa. And in Indonesia, Nuptunus.

Here comes the new opportunities. The chance to take care of ourselves, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Nobody is going to do it for us. Not because they are selfish but more likely they themselves, are struggling to make sense of what they are doing from day to day.
Some people bow to the pressure of conforming to a multitude of standards, some of which might be conflicting. Because of the lack of self belief which might be the result of several factors, we might just take charge and live a balanced life, with empathy for those who might not be at a certain level of consciousness. Remember, even the teacher has flaws. Let's vigorously rub our palms together and be grateful for what is. A better year in 2024 is wished for all our followers. Choose to be thankful. Cheers!

Born Helen Folasade Adu but professionally  known as Sade (Shah-day) this Nigerian -born British singer hit the music scene with a new sound in the 80s. To categorize her blend would not be spot on. What is without a doubt is her classy presentation on every song she has given us. That contralto voice morphs so beautifully with her backing instrumentalists. That haunting saxophone, rhythmic tap on the drums, feel good riff on the guitar and you are on you your way to a beautiful journey. Sade crept up on us with hits like, " The Sweetest Taboo", Smooth Operator", Your Love Is King", " Soldier Of Love", "Still In Love With You", "Somebody Already Broke My Heart", and many more. In this issue we look at "Smooth Operator"

Smooth Operator

Diamond life, lover boy
He moves in space with minimum waste and maximum joy
City nights and business nights
When you require streetcar desire for higher heights

No place for beginners or sensitive hearts
When sentiment is left to chance
No place to be ending but somewhere to start

No need to ask, he's a smooth operator
Smooth operator
Smooth operator
Smooth operator

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male
Across to north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale

Face to face, each classic case
We shadow box and double cross
Yet need to chase

A license to love, insurance to hold
Melts all your memories and changes into gold
His eyes are like angels but his heart is cold

No need to ask, he's a smooth operator

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale

Ways to Fight the Aging Process.

1. Little Aches and Pains

Picture
Whether it's an old injury that keeps flaring up or the start of arthritis, you're likely to feel a few aches more often as you age. Regular movement can ease pain and make your joints more flexible. Try low-impact exercise like swimming, yoga and tai-chi. Heating pads or ice packs can help, too.

2. Wrinkles.
Picture
These show up as your skin gets thinner, drier, and less elastic. But some things can make them worse, like smoking and ultraviolet rays from the sun or a tanning bed. to ease these signs of aging protect your skin from the sun, and if you smoke, quit. Some skin products like moisturizers or  prescription retinoids, might make wrinkles less noticeable.
Give them time to work- 6 weeks to 3 months.

3. Getting Enough Sleep

Picture
Older adults who regularly get a good night's sleep reported improved cognitive function, improved memory, and better mental health. This is important for preventing age-related cognitive decline and dementia, as well as playing a roll in preventing depression, which is a common mental health disorder among older individuals. Coffee and alcohol can cause issues, so cutting back on them can help.

4. Cut Saturated Fats.
Picture
Saturated fats are bad for for heart. Major health groups like the American Heart Association says getting a lot of saturated fats raises your chance of getting heart disease.

5. Loss of Muscle
Picture

Many people lose strength and endurance as they get older, but the reason isn't about the aging process. Many people just stop working on key muscles. The phrase "use it or lose it", applies here, so see if you can start weight training to build up your strength. Regular exercise like, walking, gardening, or swimming, can help too.

6. Memory Glitches
Picture
They might feel alarming, but they're part of the aging process. Your brain changes as you get olde, which can affect how well you remember things. You may need to learn a few tricks, like keeping lists, following a routine, and putting items in a set place. But some habits also help you keep your memory sharp. Also, being around friends and family often has been shown to boost your brain power.

7. Changes in Your Sex Life.

Picture
Erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, and other conditions that become more likely with age can make sex a challenge.Talk with your partner about how you're feeling and if you want to try different ways to be intimate.
Over-the-counter products like vaginal lubricants can help some issues.  Keeping yourself healthy overall will help, too. Exercise boosts blood flow and sex hormones, and helps you feel good about yourself.

8. Better Sex

Picture
Older women may have sex less often than when they were younger, but apparently they make it count.
In a study of women of 40 and over, researchers found that sexual satisfaction improves with age.
Women over 80 are more likely than between 55 and 79 say they were satisfied during sex.
